Pilates can be defined as a beautifully coordinated and flowing series of low-impact exercises practiced on either the floor, or specially designed Pilates equipment. Originally called Controlology by its creator Joseph Pilates this carefully designed movement system takes you through a three dimensional workout, moving each joint through its full range of motion, whilst stretching and strengthening your body. A constant focus on breath and alignment will help you improve your posture, your sense of body awareness, and mentally prepare you to move with more consciousness throughout your daily life.
